iKamasutra - There's a position for that

iKamasutra no longer available in the iTunes App Store

Apple removed iKamasutra from sale on February 20, 2012. Since all in-app purchases in iKamasutra for iOS must pass through Apple, this not only affects those of you who want to download the app, but also existing customers who can no longer purchase anything in the Love store, or even restore previous purchases.

We are just as devastated about this as you are, but after months of attempts to persuade Apple to allow iKamasutra back into the store, there is nothing more we can do. We developed a version of iKamasutra that is 100% compliant with all of Apple’s stated guidelines, but, according to Apple, the app will not be allowed in any form because it has already been rejected too many times for issues that transpired a year prior. You can read the full story here.

Some of you have asked how to help. One of the primary reasons the app was thrown out is because of a complaint email sent to Apple CEO Tim Cook from a mother who saw the iKamasutra icon in the App Store. If you love the app, the best thing to do is ask Tim Cook — tcook@apple.com — to reconsider Apple’s decision.

Positioning the future of iKamasutra

iKamasutra is still in active development and new updates are available on devices from Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. We are also working on exciting new apps and books, though we’re not quite ready to discuss! Be the first to find out more by following us on Twitter: @Kamasutra
